Position Overview:
As an Associate Attorney you will play a pivotal role in handling complex insurance defense cases. You will be entrusted with early and significant responsibilities, including conducting depositions, representing clients at hearings, and presenting at Mediations, Global Settlement Conferences, and Arbitrations. You will also have opportunities to actively participate in Trial work
We are seeking a candidate with at least 5 - 7 years of experience in Insurance Defense or a related field. Strong legal acumen, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage cases are essential. Experience with the District Court of appeals is a plus, but not a requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Attend and argue hearings, including motions and discovery disputes.
- Represent clients in Mediations, Global Settlement Conferences, and Arbitrations.
- Participate in trials and assist in the preparation of trial strategy.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to Junior Associates, helping develop their legal skills and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Maintain client relationships and provide strategic legal counsel.
- Demonstrate strong communication, research, and writing skills in preparing legal documents.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in insurance defense or related practice area.
- Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload.
- Strong analytical and research skills with an ability to think creatively and strategically.
- Experience taking depositions and attending hearings.
- Trial preparation experience is highly desirable.
- District Court of Appeals experience is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with clients, colleagues, and staff.
- A self-starter with a strong work ethic and commitment to providing exceptional legal service.
