The Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business, as well as managing the accounting department.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare monthly financial statements.
  • Manage and supervise accounting department staff.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations of office staff.
  • Develop financial projections and forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain cash flow management.
  • Oversee, verify, and ensure accuracy of accounting reports.
  • Develop departmental budgets.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to support decision-making.

  • Ability to interpret prints, customer work orders, and crew timesheets to extract invoicing data.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

  • Work indoors in a temperature-controlled environment.
  • Availability to work overtime during peak periods, including weekends if needed.
  • Flexibility with working hours to meet business needs.
  • Occasional travel required.
  • Willingness to work in various environments, including outdoor job sites, for emergency situations or training.
  • Occasional visits to company work sites on an as-needed basis.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Provide backup support for all positions overseen.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience and/or education in accounting.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing, acceptable by insurance standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including spreadsheets, word processors, and internet usage.
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting functions and procedures.
  • Knowledge of tax laws, including payroll taxes.
