About the Company:
We are a fast-growing, privately held CPG manufacturer. We thrive on precision, integrity, and forward-thinking innovation in every area of our operations. As we scale, we are looking for a high-caliber Financial Controller who can act as a strategic partner to the executive team, a meticulous steward of the numbers, and a strong collaborator across departments.
Position Overview:
The Financial Controller is responsible for full-spectrum accounting, internal controls, financial reporting, and operational finance. You will be hands-on, tactical, and deeply integrated into the business. You must think broadly, plan strategically, and execute flawlessly. We need someone who lives and breathes accuracy and accountability—an individual who always double-checks the numbers, understands the why behind them, and has the drive to build systems that scale.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Reporting
- Lead all financial reporting, including balance sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure GAAP, IRS, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee external audits and lender reporting.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning
- Build annual budgets and rolling forecasts aligned with production and seasonal demand.
- Partner with leadership and operations to support strategic initiatives.
Cost & Operational Finance
- Analyze COGS and product margins, identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
- Monitor supply chain finance, raw material costs, and efficiency metrics.
- Drive cost control, fixed asset tracking, and lease accounting.

- Implement and maintain rigorous internal controls and fraud prevention mechanisms.
- Proactively identify risks and ensure accurate inventory valuation.
ERP & Excel Mastery
- Optimize use of SAP Business One for financial reporting and inventory tracking.
- Maintain advanced financial models in Excel (VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, Power Query, Pivot Tables).
Team & Transaction Oversight
- Supervise payroll, employee compensation accounting, and benefits compliance.
- Manage AP/AR processes, vendor terms, and daily cash transactions.
- Lead bank reconciliations and maintain accruals.
Who You Are:
Technical Excellence
- 10–15 years of finance experience, with at least 1–2 prior Controller roles.
- Has operated as the #1 finance person in a privately held company or a business unit.
- CPG or manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.

- Risk-Aware: Spots red flags early and proactively mitigates them—across finance, operations, and compliance.
- Data-Driven Decision Maker: Practices verification before action—relies on clean data, and goes to the source.
- Highly Accountable: Takes full ownership of outcomes. Decisive and reliable in delivering results under pressure.
- Ethical & Discreet: Upholds integrity and confidentiality in all dealings.
- Fast Learner: Demonstrates adaptability and learning agility in new systems, processes, or changes.
- Cross-Functional Partner: Excels in collaboration with Ops, HR, Procurement, and beyond. Builds rapport and trust across functions.
- Strong Communicator: Delivers complex information clearly and concisely. Adapts tone and detail depending on audience—from team members to ownership.
- Resilient & Proactive: Has the self-motivation and perseverance to push through challenges and identify what’s needed before being asked.
Leadership Style
