Job Summary:
We are seeking a Product Data Management Specialist to create, manage, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing routings to support production efficiency. This role ensures accurate data entry into the ERP/MRP system, collaborates with engineering and production teams, and optimizes processes for material planning and workflow efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
BOM & Routing Management:
- Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for all products.
- Develop and update manufacturing routings, defining the steps required for production.
- Ensure BOMs and routings reflect engineering changes, material substitutions, and process improvements.
- Validate BOM accuracy to prevent production errors and material shortages.
- Standardize BOM structures and maintain data integrity in ERP/MRP systems (Epicor).
ERP/MRP System Administration:
- Enter, update, and manage BOM and routing data in the company’s ERP system.
- Troubleshoot and correct BOM and routing discrepancies within the system.
- Work with IT or ERP specialists to improve data workflows and system functionality.
Collaboration & Process Improvement:
- Work closely with engineering, production, purchasing, and quality teams to ensure smooth product transitions.
- Support new product introductions (NPI) by setting up BOMs and routings for production readiness.
- Analyze and improve routing times, work center assignments, and resource allocation to enhance efficiency.
- Assist in cost analysis by ensuring accurate labor, material, and overhead calculations in BOMs.
Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure BOMs and routings comply with industry standards and company procedures.
- Maintain revision control and documentation accuracy for all BOMs and routing changes.
- Participate in audits and continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing data.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience with BOM and routing management in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor, or similar).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and workflows.
- Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving and process improvement skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, supply chain).
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or supply chain management.
- Knowledge of costing, inventory management, and process optimization.
- Familiarity with CAD software (helpful for reviewing engineering drawings).

Pay: $22.52 - $24.91 per hour
