Purpose
The Production Planner will oversee supply and demand balancing, develop efficient scheduling systems, and implement best practices to support manufacturing processes. Must have prior experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between sales, engineering, manufacturing, and logistics teams.
- Collaborate to establish schedules and resource plans that align with customer needs.
- Create demand-based schedules and provide accurate lead times for sales.
- Prepare master schedule reports reflecting performance of the business, shipping, inventory and production plans.
- Manage load leveling and address bottlenecks to enhance scheduling accuracy.
- Analyze and report production hours.
- Monitor and adjust capacity levels to ensure smooth execution of manufacturing schedules.
- Coordinate with purchasing to manage raw material inventory and anticipate supply needs.
- Integrate sales orders into the master schedule while ensuring equipment and staff availability.
- Communicate schedule updates or delays to relevant teams.
- Participate in forecasting meetings and lead planning sessions with key departments.
- Assist in capacity planning for annual operations and recommend necessary adjustments.
- Maintain work center data and monitor on-time delivery metrics.
Qualifications
- Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in electronics or contract manufacturing.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience managing large datasets.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
