JOB DESCRIPTION
To secure support from private foundations with a specific focus on Health Science and Research Initiatives across the organization
Responsibilities
Job Duties
- Coordinate the development of concept papers, letters of inquiry or proposals, assist Connecticut Children’s faculty and staff with editing and document preparation, resulting in compelling submissions targeted to funders.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of 20-30 foundation while developing a deep understanding of the national private foundation landscape.
- Collaborate with Connecticut Children’s staff (foundation) and faculty to inform them about funding opportunities; advise them on effective foundation relations processes; discuss strategies: and encourage them to pursue the appropriate opportunities. Coordinate to ensure timely and accurate pre-and post-award processes are followed.
- In collaboration with the Development Team and Donor Relations Team, conduct research on foundations and interpret their guidelines to evaluate their potential for funding Connecticut Children’s priorities.
- Acquire and maintain a knowledge of Connecticut Children’s initiatives, research, and priority needs; assist with the engagement of foundation staff, Medical Center leadership and faculty.
- Ensure interactions with foundations are maintained in Salesforce and foundation deliverables are coordinated with the Foundation staff
Minimum Education and Experience Required
- At least 3-5 years of experience as a fundraiser, and solid project management skills.
- Salesforce experience desired.
