The Volunteer Services Coordinator will provide support across the organization with a particular focus on volunteer and community engagement. Their primary responsibility will be to assist with program planning that supports the organization's mission and operational needs through the recruitment, recognition, and retention of volunteers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Processes volunteer requests including making reservations, scheduling events, and cancellations.
- Supports volunteer groups and trains individuals on the use of volunteer management software. (this pertains to the use, of signing into, and creating new accounts online or at kiosk)
- Attends Connecticut Foodshare events, particularly related to volunteer and community engagement as needed.
- Assists with the development of new volunteer opportunities.
- Assists with photographing volunteer events.
- Supports organization-wide calendar of volunteer events.
- Maintains accurate volunteer records and track volunteer hours using database management systems
- Creates and distribute volunteer schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all programs and events
- Builds and maintain positive relationships with regular volunteers and volunteer groups
- Provides orientation and training to ensure volunteers understand safety protocols and procedures
- Other duties as assigned.
