Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Finance to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, ideally with experience in real estate investment. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong leadership skills, and the ability to oversee various financial and operational aspects of our business.
Duties:
- Supervise accounting staff of 2-3 in addition to contracted bookkeeping organizations.
- Participate in executive leadership and staff meetings.
- Lead the annual budget preparation for all entities.
- Calculate and oversee all partner distributions.
- Oversee property accounting for all operating entities.
- Oversee CTR Property Management accounting for year-end tax return preparation.
- Oversee fund accounting and individual investor capital accounts for all investment partnerships.
- Oversee all human resource functions for the CTR group entities.
- Prepare quarterly consolidated financial statements for all partnership entities.
- Prepare complicated CAM reconciliation and forecast calculations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of GAAP and income tax rules relevant to real estate entities and partnerships.
- Participate in due diligence for new property acquisitions.
- Oversee cash management and forecasts for all entities.
- Review workpapers prepared by staff for accuracy.
- Prepare income tax workpapers for NH entities.
- Review and approve tax returns prepared by accounting firms.
- Review and approve audited financial statements.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a finance leadership role, preferably with experience in commercial real estate.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Controller, Director of Finance, or CFO strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with such financial concepts as discounted cash flow analysis and internal rates of return.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and real estate-related tax rules.
- Proven experience in financial statement preparation and review.
- Experience in cash forecasting and financial planning.
- Excellent leadership and supervisory skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
