Consolidated Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Forensic Psychologist to provide forensic evaluation services at Central Regional Hospital in Butner, NC. As a member of our team, you will conduct pretrial evaluations and assessments for patients, utilizing your expertise in psychological testing and interpretation. Your duties will include conducting outpatient, inpatient, and consultation evaluations, as well as providing direct supervision to interns and post-doctoral fellows in the Forensic Service.
Job Description:
The psychologist will be responsible for conducting pretrial forensic evaluations, including capacity to proceed assessments, risk assessments, and other specialized types of evaluations. You will utilize advanced psychological testing and interpretation skills to inform your evaluations. Additionally, you will consult with attorneys about evaluation results and report directly to judges on evaluation findings. Testifying in court about evaluation conclusions is also a key aspect of this role.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge and skill in age-appropriate psychological testing, psychopathology, and diagnosis
- Knowledge of specific psychological tests, including tests of intellectual ability, personality, and neuropsychological screening instruments
- Knowledge of Forensic Psychology, including evaluation of competency to stand trial and NGRI defense issues
