In this role, you will oversee the daily supervision, monitoring, and coaching of employees to ensure a productive workforce in compliance with company policies and procedures. Your expertise in radiation protection will ensure that work is completed in a timely manner while maintaining ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) standards for nuclear worker exposure.
Key responsibilities include:
- Directing Radiation Protection Technicians in implementing decontamination, instrumentation, planning, and scheduling procedures
- Ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and state requirements
- Managing budgets, hiring, training, and overseeing work in the field
- Accountable for managing performance in areas of plant contamination and personnel exposure events
You'll also be responsible for effective communication of company programs, announcements, and policies. Assist in developing budgets, business plans, and projects. Directly supervise Laborers/RPTs who perform routine plant cleaning and equipment decontamination.
A minimum of 4 years' experience in radiation protection at a nuclear reactor facility is required. Successful completion of core supervisory/management training and development programs is preferred. Basic computer skills are essential, and an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Physics or related discipline is required.
Estimated Salary: $95,000 - $115,000 per annum
