What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sibling Youth Respite Provider - J position at Consumer Direct Care Network?
Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and patient individual to provide respite care for two active siblings who need supervision and support to ensure their safety and well-being. The ideal candidate will be able to manage a fast-paced environment, de-escalate conflicts, and provide positive guidance to the children as they navigate their relationship.
Care Provided in the Children’s Home
Schedule:
- 6 hours per week (Mostly weekends and after-school care)
- Flexible schedule to be planned in advance with the managing party
Pay:
$18.80 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage the siblings, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment
- Facilitate activities to promote positive interactions and minimize conflicts
- De-escalate disputes and ensure safety during challenging situations
- Support the children’s physical and emotional well-being, offering encouragement when needed
- Foster cooperative behavior and healthy communication between the children
- Provide feedback to the family on progress, behavior, and incidents during the shift
- Assist with light household duties, such as meal prep or tidying up after activities
Qualifications:
- Experience in childcare, respite care, or working with children with behavioral challenges preferred
- Ability to manage high-energy situations and resolve conflicts calmly and effectively
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build trust with the children and their family
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Caring, empathetic nature with a strong desire to positively impact children's lives
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to engage in active play and ensure the children’s safety during physical activities
- Ability to respond quickly to safety concerns or emergencies
- Ability to pass a caregiver/criminal background check
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
