Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen and a thorough understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team that aligns with company values to ensure all are working toward the company's objectives. Hire and train new employees, coach and develop existing employees, monitor performance, manage employee relations and disciplinary issues, delegate tasks, and follow up on action.
- Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Manage the balance sheet to ensure all accounts are properly reconciled.
- Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations.
- Supervise cash management processes, including cash flow forecasting and liquidity management.
Preferred Education / Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred
- 8 years in related discipline
- Previous experience in management position, or
- A combination of education and experience equivalent to the above
Preferred Knowledge / Ability:
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP, accounting regulations, and best practices.
- Understanding of general ledger structure, month-end closing, and reporting to various entities.
- Ability to conduct thorough financial analysis to impact strategic decisions.
- Familiarity with cash management practices and techniques.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, large data sets).
- Excellent multi-tasking, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional time management and prioritization skills.
- Problem-solving skills to identify and rectify financial discrepancies and irregularities
- Excellent data analysis skills to interpret financial information accurately and present it in a clear, concise manner.
