IT Specialist

Continental Express Inc., a leading full-service transportation company specializing in the transportation of refrigerated food products, is excited to announce an opening for an IT Specialist at our corporate office in Sidney, OH. We are looking for a motivated individual who is eager to learn and grow with us. While prior experience is a plus, we are open to training an enthusiastic candidate who is ready to develop new skills and make a meaningful contribution to our team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Software Development Support:

• Assist in creating detailed level designs for software development projects.
• Conduct system studies and designs for new project developments and system enhancements.

System Integration:

• Support and guide data integration and communication between systems.

Testing and Quality Assurance:

• Develop test plans/scripts for system testing.
• Help with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) specifications and implementations as needed.
• Provide support for user testing and end-to-end system integration testing.

Technical Support:

• Provide production support and troubleshoot system issues.
• Offer support during system implementation into the production environment.
• Providing IOS App end user support for our own integrated driver app.
• Answer support calls as first line of contact.

Networking and System Knowledge:

• Understand basic networking concepts, including site-to-site VPN tunnels.

Documentation and SOP Creation:

• Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to document processes, workflows, and system configurations.
• Ensure SOPs are up to date and accessible for team members and stakeholders.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work well in a collaborative, interactive team environment.
• Exhibit excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Work cooperatively with all levels within the organization.

Learning and Adaptability:

• Display the ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies.

Technical Skills:

• Experience with IBM iSeries (RPGLE, CL, DDS) and DB2 is a plus.
• Familiarity with ASP.NET is a plus.
• IOS familiar is a bonus

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related area of experience.
• An eagerness to support both the technical and operational needs of the company.
• Experience with iSeries environment including IBM High availability preferred.
• Experience in MS Office (Power point, Excel, Word) and Visio.
• Experience with hardware ie: printers and networking
• Must be comfortable working on site daily. This will not be a remote work position.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Team-oriented, with an open approach to learning and development.
• Ability to take on diverse tasks, from coding to production support and documentation.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
