What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Associate, Contract Origination position at Convergent Energy and Power?

The Senior Associate, Contract Origination provides project management, logistics support, and research to the Commercial Operations department throughout the process of negotiating and closing deals.
What You’ll Do
- Support successful negotiation processes by diligently taking and propagating notes, including managing follow-ups directly with internal and external stakeholders.
- Produce polished, error-free, customer-ready, or executive-ready analyses, documents, and presentations.
- Research or analyze specific questions to support commercial positions, finding answers online or among Convergent’s best practices, or by independently querying the customer organization.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to resolve issues / find answers, and correctly apply Commercial Operations best practices to the resulting conclusions.
- Organize the files and other records essential to executing deals, including document drafts, customer data, analysis results, presentations, and proposals, etc., and guide colleagues across departments to do the same.
- Assist in the preparation of major commercial documents including revenue contracts, presentations to Convergent’s board, and internal interdepartmental handoff materials.
- As needed, support and project-manage structured procurement processes for energy-related contracts adjacent to our primary revenue agreements, such as Community Broker services or REC procurement.
- Advise the Commercial Operations team with innovative ideas and helpful suggestions informed by experience with prior deals.
- Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier program with high academic achievement and demonstrated verbal skills.
- 3 years of relevant work experience in a business setting in a role heavily reliant upon communication and producing client-facing work.
- Familiarity with energy industry fundamentals.
- Curious and capable, a natural team player who will eagerly support the activities of our contract negotiations team.
- Methodical, polished, and precise, capable of consistently producing error-free work product.
- Comfortable independently managing multiple priorities.
- Highly motivated to contribute, learn, and grow, and excited to be working in clean energy.

Salary Range: $90,000- $105,000; Salary Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience.
