Description
The Fitness Specialist assists with day-to-day fitness operations and programs according to the Cooper’s vision, values, and strategic objectives. This individual will be a Cooper Aerobics employee onsite at our client's fitness center in Franklin, LA. The Fitness Specialist will conduct new member orientations, participate in the instruction of fitness classes, conduct personal fitness assessments, prescribe personal fitness plans, provide exercise floor supervision, provide front desk coverage, and ensure a clean and safe environment for all members with an emphasis on customer service.
Hours: Schedule may vary; Monday-Friday
Job Responsibilities and Duties
· Conducts new member orientations
· Instructs small group and group fitness classes.
· Circulates fitness floor and assists members in safe exercise.
· Conducts personal fitness assessments.
· Prescribes personal fitness plans.
· Performs daily facility and equipment maintenance and cleaning processes.
· Provides front desk coverage as needed.
· Attends work on a timely and consistent basis. Must be present on-site to perform the duties of this position.
· Maintains a positive attitude and teamwork approach.
· Adheres to the Cooper Purpose and its Core Values (PREFICS).
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· Prefer at least one year of experience in either corporate or commercial fitness facility setting.
· For individuals providing personal training, a Personal Training NCCA accredited certification is required and preferred two years of fitness training experience
· For individuals providing group exercise instruction, a group fitness general certification from NCAA accredited group, or similar or specialized certification required.
