Job Title
Thermal Spray Specialist I
Responsible for the production of high quality spray-coated products.
- May perform operations to ensure proper preparation and cleanliness of products.
- May perform tasks such as metal grinding and/or finishing of all coated product as well as pre-grind processes.
- Performs tasks requiring successful thermal spray coat of all materials used in department such as Ceramic, Rokide, Nickels, & Carbides.
- May operate and maintain programmable robotic equipment.
- May prepare for thermal spraying of components and/or products using blueprints and calibration equipment.
- May build and maintain fixtures for component processing.
- May perform moderately complex NC/CNC thermal spraying activities.
- May be required to repair/rebuild spray gun(s).
- Willingly accepts responsibility of sharing skills and knowledge; trains other employees on equipment and process flow.
- Maintains an acceptable level of performance by following established policies and procedures, and participating in continuous improvement efforts by supporting and implementing new ideas.
- Understands and meets or exceeds quality standards; seeks to minimize reject rate.
- Assists in any and all areas as assigned.
- May work any and all shifts/days as required.
Education:
- Associates degree in related field preferred; minimum High School Diploma/GED Experience:
- 7 years’ experience in manufacturing environment.
- Possesses advanced understanding of established procedures and ability to apply knowledge to unusual and/or complex production problems that may require fixture fabrication.
- Duties and tasks reflect substantial variety and complexity, requiring extensive knowledge in a wide range of product specific manufacturing systems.
- Must be able to understand and use all applicable measuring equipment.
- Must possess the ability to work in any position in the department and operate majority of equipment.
- Performs detail oriented tasks utilizing good hand-eye coordination and intermediate language and math skills.
- Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
