Join our team of compassionate and dedicated healthcare professionals as a Primary Care Physician Assistant in Lakeside, AZ.
We are seeking a skilled provider to deliver exceptional primary care services to patients of all ages, including preventive care, chronic disease management, and more.
Your Role:
- Conduct initial health assessments, progress notes, annual wellness exams, acute illness/minor injury evaluations, and residential program health statements.
- Develop differential diagnostic assessments, risk assessments, patient education, and progress toward treatment goals.
- Document member's progress toward medical health goals in the clinical record and provide medication education and informed consent when possible.
- Order follow-up blood levels and supportive laboratory tests according to standard medical practice.
- Review the health assessment completed by nursing staff, obtain a past and current medical history, and initiate contact with psychiatric providers, emergency department clinicians, and medical referral specialists as needed.
- Assess member needs, guide the clinical team, and manage treatment plan updates while initiating contact with outside providers as necessary.
- Ensure positive member outcomes by providing exceptional member care and timely documentation of services.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
- Certification by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Minimum one (1) year of primary care experience as a medical professional.
- Experience working in an integrated behavioral health setting highly preferred.
- Fingerprint clearance card issued by the AZ Department of Public Safety or eligible to receive one within eight (8) weeks of hire.
- TB Test clearance required at the time of hire.
- Strong commitment to rural healthcare and community well-being.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills and typing abilities, including EHR/EMR systems and MS Office.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and use proper de-escalation methods in crisis situations.
