JOB OBJECTIVE : The Buyer is responsible for meeting purchasing needs in an assigned area of commodities and / or services, including planning requisition review, supplier selection, order placement and follow-up.
Main Duties :
Placed P.O. with suppliers, reschedules P.O.'s and expedite past due P.O.'s
Resolves receipt discrepancies, accounting issues and DMR issues.
Reviews all requisition for completeness, description, appropriate approval and delivery date.
Procures commodities based on MRP, forecast and history.
Maintains PPV standard cost
Negotiate pricing and delivery with assigned vendors
Establishes new vendors and develops proper relationships to fulfill requirements.
Vendor master maintenance ( computer )
Tracks vendor performance
Knowledgeable about the laws and regulations that pertain to the procurement of there requirements.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
