Copper State Bolt & Nut Company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. To be an ideal candidate, you will have a strong foundation in GAAP and reconciliations in preparation for audit. Familiarity with FASB changes and how they apply to business reporting requirements are important. You will work collaboratively to develop controls, support process improvements, and drive consistency across accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities:
- Reconciliation of key asset and accrual accounts so that they meet GAAP standards including FASB changes like the ASC842 leasing standard.
- Execute an internal audit preparation process to ensure compliance including internal auditing as needed.
- Support best practices by assessing business processes, identifying potential risks, and recommending appropriate internal controls.
- Prepare workpapers and provide necessary documentation and support for external audits.
- Act as a resource to other teams, educating and training on accounting compliance requirements to foster adherence to internal controls.
- Work collaboratively across departments, fostering relationships and communicating effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience with strong knowledge of GAAP and auditing standards.
- Excel expert, able to write Excel formulas without reference to help. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency with enterprise-level accounting systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to validate accuracy of finished work-product.
- Ability to implement internal controls and perform risk assessments. · -
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ASC 842 lease standard.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP system (Finance & Supply Chain).
- Knowledge of internal audit processes.
- Creativity in solving problems and identifying solutions.
