Director of Nursing (DON)
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) with a deep commitment to healthcare and a focus on providing exceptional care to our residents and support to our staff. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) settings as a DON, possessing strong leadership, operational, and budgetary skills. They must also demonstrate proficiency in PointClickCare (PCC) and have experience with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards. As the DON, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care while maintaining cost-effective operations.
Director of Nursing (DON) Responsibilities :
Provide leadership and oversight to nursing staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
Foster a culture of compassion, respect, and teamwork among staff, promoting a positive work environment.
Utilize PCC system effectively to manage resident care documentation and optimize workflow efficiency.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement resident care plans that meet individual needs and preferences.
Monitor and evaluate nursing practices, implementing improvements as needed to enhance quality of care and resident satisfaction.
Manage departmental budgets, effectively controlling costs while maintaining high standards of care.
Ensure adherence to TJC standards and participate in accreditation surveys as required.
Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff, providing guidance and support for professional development.
Director of Nursing (DON) Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field required; Master’s degree in nursing or healthcare management preferred.
Current licensure as a registered nurse.
5 years of experience in nursing leadership, with a focus on LTC settings.
Proven track record of superb leadership and operational skills.
Experience with PCC system and TJC standards.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
