Position Overview:
The Chef de Cuisine is responsible for leading our culinary team and managing all aspects of kitchen operations. You will ensure the smooth execution of all meal periods, maintain superior food quality, and create innovative, seasonally inspired menus. Your ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team will be essential in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure all policies, procedures, and service standards are followed.
- Maintain superior standards of food preparation, presentation, and quality.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop creative menus and ensure timely delivery of dishes.
- Manage food ordering and purchasing, to maintain budgeted food costs
- Research and incorporate new trends in fine dining and global cuisines.
- Regularly interact with guests to ensure an exceptional dining experience and address any concerns.
- Participate in management meetings and provide insights on kitchen operations.
- Train restaurant staff on cuisine, presentation, and preparation to enhance their ability to sell dishes.
- Uphold strict quality control, including plate presentation and food quality.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of culinary or kitchen management experience in an upscale environment.
- High school diploma required; culinary certificate preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Extensive knowledge of local and global cuisines, with the ability to innovate.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in financial reports, including labor costs and food cost analysis.
- Flexibility with work schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Outstanding guest relations, communication, and presentation skills.
