Underground Mine Production Operator I Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Load-Haul-Dump (LHD) Operator to support production operations by transporting broken rock, maintaining roadways, and handling oversized boulders. This role involves assembling and placing explosives for cave development and secondary blasting, operating concrete batching equipment, and handling hydraulic drills for blast hole drilling and ground support installation.
Underground Mine Production Operator I Responsibilities
- Operate Load-Haul-Dump (LHD) unit in a production setting. Move broken rock from draw point to ore pass, maintain roadways, and properly place oversized boulders.
- Assemble, transport, and place explosives for the purpose of cave development or secondary oversize blasting.
- Operate concrete batching equipment, transport concrete to destination, or place concrete using diesel equipment (pumps, sprayers) and manual tools (shovels, screed boards)
- Operate hydraulic drills (diesel or electric power) to drill blast holes and / or install ground support.
- Manage distribution of explosives from magazine. Perform inventories, verify requisition paperwork, and issue / receive explosives.
- Using a mobile lift truck, install and / or repair steel piping and rubber hose to ensure properly functioning water spray in draw points.
- Operate various equipment to perform special projects and / or housekeeping work.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Underground Mine Production Operator I Position Requirements
Employees who are required to work on-site are eligible for a $1,450 monthly housing allowance, provided they meet program guidelines. The estimated pay range for this role is currently?$24.00. - $31.00 / hour.
