Grade: 9 ($20.98-$31.47)

SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Bank Secrecy (BSA) Officer and in compliance with established policies and procedures, performs a variety of tasks associated with the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, transaction monitoring, Customer Due Diligence, records retention, and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews and acknowledges alerts from transaction monitoring system and escalates alerts as needed.
  • Attends local symposiums related to fraud and anti-money laundering. Stays abreast of current trends.
  • Assists in the identifying and monitoring of high-risk customers and high-risk activities.
  • Assists with case management for BSA reportable activity, culminating with detailed, accurate, and concise case summaries.
  • Assists with customer due diligence, including beneficial ownership for legal entities, and enhanced due diligence for high risk members.
  • Assists with the review and remediation of potential OFAC and PEP screening matches.
  • Assists with regular tracking of monetary instruments and reporting requirements including Currency Transaction Reports.
  • Assists in compliance with 314(a) and 314(b) (PATRIOT Act) responsibilities.
  • Conducts and assists with departmental projects. May consist of researching, preparing and creating presentations.
  • Assists with maintenance of an effective record storage and retention system. (With supervision of the BSA Officer or Director of Compliance & Security.)
  • Other duties as assigned, but not limited to, cross-training within the Compliance and Security department for assistance with coverage as needed.
  • Occasional weekend or after hours availability may be required but limited.

Requirements:


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Two (2) years’ experience working in a financial services or fraud prevention environment. One (1) year of back-office deposit account experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience in transaction monitoring and/or identifying fraud and money laundering.
  • Exceptional writing, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Certified Transaction Monitoring Associate (CTMA) or equivalent certifications, preferred
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, excellent problem solving skills, ability to set goals.
  • Positive and professional attitude.
  • Strong knowledge of back-office, deposit account operations. Has the ability to compile and analyze data, balance figures, and provide accurate, detailed reporting.
