Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains full familiarity with plans, specifications, construction schedules, and contractor's plans on assigned contracts, the Project Management Plan, and current safety regulations to be knowledgeable of the project team (i.e., WMATA, consultants, and multiple contractors) responsibilities;
- Coordinates with the Project Implementation Team on testing and commissioning, system integration, substantial completion, and final inspections of contractors’ work ensuring completion and compliance with specified requirements;
- Provide technical expertise and integration management support throughout project implementation;
- Prepare project start-up and acceptance plan. Obtain interdepartmental input and gain acceptance;
- Coordination of Safety and Security Certification with project closeout requirements.
- Review of planning and design documents for impacts to the project’s ability to be effectively closed out and integrated into WMATA’s operating systems.
- Proactive gathering and tracking of project data required to complete project close out requirements from project initiation through completion.
- Review and ensure all as-built drawings associated with all work are complete, accurate, and provided to WMATA;
- Assists WMATA with closeout of contracts, including the development of lessons learned and other documentation as assigned;
- Manage other close-out efforts to include receiving and turning over spare parts/equipment, facilitating all Operations and Maintenance (O&M) training, and achieving relating contractual and/or financial closures;
- Ensures all documentation is updated in Procore; and
Background and Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, construction management, business, or related field;
- A minimum of 10 years demonstrable experience, with four (4) years of experience managing closeout activities on large projects;
- Knowledge of the WMATA Safety and Security Certification process;
- Experience in Construction Management Applications (i.e., Procore, Prolog, etc.);
- Experience working with documents, hard copy and digital, and file management;
- Familiarity with WMATA standard processes and procedures;
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills, and strong technical writing skills; and
- Experience with Microsoft 365® applications.
Salary Range: $116,000 to $ 140,000 YR
