What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nutrition Coordinator for Childcare position at Cornerstone Early Learning Center?
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nutrition Coordinator to lead our daycare food program and work with existing staff. You will work under the direct supervision of the Cornerstone Early Learning Center Director. You are responsible for preparation and delivery of food to eating areas and cleanup; maintenance of kitchen on a daily basis as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must have a High School degree or GED and be at least 18 years of age.
- Must present a current physical (within 30 days).
- Must obtain Food Safety Certification at their own expense with reimbursement of all expenses incurred after 3 months of employment without disciplinary action on the employees file.
- Must obtain certification with Provider’s Choice food program.
- Candidate must have good health and be agile enough to work with small children
- Must be able to relate well to children, staff, and parents.
- Must have the ability to read, write and keep records.
- Experience working in a kitchen.
- Good personality.
- Presents a neat and clean appearance.
Essential Functions
- Prepares Daily and weekly menu for all age groups according to Provider’s Choice and Cornerstone guidelines.
- Prepare meals.
- Delivers meals to classrooms and helps cleanup.
- Stores food before and after serving.
- Every day will be responsible for washing and sterilizing dishes, pots and utensils.
- Washes countertops and sinks daily.
- Cleans refrigerator, freezer and cupboards as necessary.
- Sweeps and mops kitchen area as needed; cleans and washes oven and refrigerator as needed.
- Is responsible for making sure children with food allergies receive appropriate food, milk, etc.
- Follows weekly rotating meal menus as written. Reports any deviations to the Director.
- Takes inventory of pantry contents/places food distributor orders as necessary.
- Creates appropriate shopping lists and performs shopping as necessary.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the Director.
- Coordinate with Lead Teachers in creating a schedule to assist classrooms with cooking experiences as necessary.

Working Conditions
