Cornerstone Support Services is a Non-Profit, 501(c)3 Provider of Support Services for Adults with Developmental Disabilities, licensed by Virginia's Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services. Job Summary
The Group Home Manager leads, directs, and supervises our support staff to ensure the health and safety of our residents. Home Managers work are responsible for providing direction to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in the implementation of the Individual Support Plan. Group Home Managers oversee scheduling, duty assignment, and basic functions of the Group Home as a whole while performing in an on-call function. We are looking for driven, dependable, and compassionate individuals who want to make a difference in people’s lives. You will assist adults with developmental disabilities with daily life activities in both routine and dynamic environments. Examples of Group Home Manager responsibilities
- Provide direction for support staff in responding to the needs of residents as individuals, and the implementation of individual support plans for residents
- Provide supervision and guidance for residents during skill building activities
- Works closely with the Program Manager and other supervisory staff to maintain communication, provide feedback, standardize procedures, and improve efficiency
- Delegate daily living activities, including preparing meals and assisting with personal hygiene, to the support staff
- Performs all duties of subordinates and/or assists them in performing delegated duties
- Maintain basic functions of the Group Home as a whole
- Develop a rapport with residents and cultivate a safe and supportive relationship
- Update resident case notes on a daily basis
- Ensure an appropriate staff-to-client ratio at all times
- Performs administrative functions of the workplace/Group Home
- Performs an on-call function

Requirements

- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Excellent budgeting skills, with the ability to manage financial resources effectively.
- A background in nursing is highly desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on building relationships with residents, families, and staff.
