Client Desktop Administrator
Type: Contract-to-Hire

The Enterprise Client Endpoint Services team manages the lifecycle of client desktops and applications, ensuring compliance with approved software and hardware. This role focuses on developing and maintaining standardized OS and application deployments for corporate and shop systems, as well as troubleshooting and maintaining client configurations in a large enterprise environment.
General Duties:
- Develop, test, and document corporate and shop OS images.
- Create and maintain client system build procedures.
- Provide 3rd-level desktop engineering support to IT teams.
- Evaluate software patches and releases; recommend, package, test, and deploy upgrades.
- Distribute software using enterprise desktop management systems (e.g., HPDM, PDQ, Big Fix, SCCM).
- Diagnose and escalate production issues, coordinating engineered solutions.
- Standardize software, utilities, and security settings on desktops and laptops.
- Maintain documentation for hardware configurations, client settings, and OS images.
- Manage project initiatives, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
- Participate in Change Release meetings for hardware and OS image releases.
- Present technology roadmaps to management.
- Implement and monitor system improvements for efficiency.
- Monitor and respond to security events using tools like SCCM, Azure, and Intune.
Essential Functions & Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in a Windows client environment.
- Background in Desktop Engineering with hands-on experience designing and implementing Desktop Management infrastructures.
- Proven ability to resolve complex Windows desktop issues.
- Experience in deploying applications with enterprise toolsets and creating unattended OS installations.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows 10/11, Linux (RHEL), and Mac OS.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, configuring, and securing Microsoft Windows OS.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and other standard desktop applications.
- Experience with desktop management tools and PowerShell.
- Detail-oriented with a solid understanding of networking as it relates to client desktops.
- Effective communication skills to explain technical issues to management.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently.
- Commitment to providing excellent support to both internal and external clients.
- Experience with desktop virtualization (e.g., VMware Workstation) is a plus.
- Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional (MCITP): Enterprise Desktop Administrator 7 certification preferred.
