The Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.
This segment is classified into two main product groupings: carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments, and individuals for their own use.
The Manufacturing Process Manager will lead daily operations activities to achieve safety, quality, cost, and productivity performance. They will identify and lead key performance improvement projects across different process areas, including Ribboning, Buffering, Jacketing, and optical testing.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet or exceed safety, quality, cost, capacity, and delivery objectives.
- Champion safety performance; Directly responsible for driving employee engagement and compliance.
- Manage daily production and quality issues; Quickly resolve performance issues by ensuring clear ownership of responsibilities.
- Manage quality initiatives to improve yield and reduce production errors; Lead PCPD efforts.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree (Engineering preferred) or equivalent manufacturing experience. 2-3 years work experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Computer and data analytics skills are necessary. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment is essential. Demonstrated safety leadership is a must. Proven ability to effectively lead and motivate production teams is also required.
