Machinist Shop Specialist

Job Description:
Corrosion Materials, a leading specialty metals distribution company and metal service center, seeks a highly skilled Machinist to join its dynamic team. This full-time position offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for reading and interpreting technical drawings and prints to produce high-quality machined parts. Utilizing advanced machining methods and equipment, the Machinist will work closely with the production team to meet customer requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Read sketches or drawings to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.
2. Operate various machining equipment, including turning, facing, drilling, boring, threading, grooving, and milling machines.
3. Adjust machining parameters to maximize tool life and minimize run times while maintaining quality end products.
4. Perform dimensional inspection of all machined parts using basic measuring instruments.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two or more years of experience operating applicable machining equipment.
• Advanced math skills, including understanding of fractions and decimal equivalence, and trigonometric functions.
• Knowledge and use of basic hand tools during the machining process.
• Ability to interpret basic 2D blueprints to determine part dimensions for inspection purposes.
