The Midland MI maintenance department is looking for an Instrument & Electrical Technician to join our team. This role is for a highly motivated person with maintenance and repair experience in a combination of the following areas: chemical process instrumentation, industrial electrical equipment, process control systems and basic industrial pipe work. The ideal candidate will exhibit leadership skills, display flexibility in working with others, have experience working in a chemical plant, demonstrate proficiency in electronic tools and embrace an ownership mindset. What You’ll Do
Remove, install, clean, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose and provide effective repairs to all components of the Process Control Instrumentation loops (e.g. transmitters, transducers, meters, relays, switches, sensors, communications, control systems, etc.). Maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose and provide effective repairs to industrial electrical equipment. (e.g. motor starters, control circuits, fuses, breakers <600V, variable frequency drives, heat tracing, etc.).Provide first level support for MOD 5 hardware, PLC systems, DCS systems, motor controls, pneumatic controls, AC/DC controls, instrumentation and various communication protocols. Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) according to defined schedules and procedures. Understand the difference between process safety vs. reliability driven PPMs. Perform line and equipment openings necessary for replacement and repair of instrumentation and other flanged/threaded piping system components. Develop procedures to efficiently, effectively and safely diagnose and repair process instrumentation. Participate in instrumentation and electrical reliability improvement activities as appropriate (e.g. spare parts list generation). Provide instrumentation and electrical expertise to improvement and capital projects. Provide instrumentation and electrical expertise in Root Cause Investigations. Provide updates as required into our Maintenance Management System (SAP). Participate in the on-call rotation. Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do
- You have a High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
- You have 2 years of relevant instrument, electrical or process control experience.
- You have a solid understanding of electrical, pneumatic and instrumentation diagrams and drawings.
- You have working knowledge of electrical arc flash and shock hazards (NFPA 70E).
- You have an understanding of pressure, temperature, level & flow instruments and how to adjust, calibrate, troubleshoot and repair them.
- You understand that we are here to serve our customers and doing so well is critical to our site viability! Due to this, you are willing and able to work a day shift schedule with overtime as well as an on-call rotation schedule. This includes being willing and able to take calls during the week and on some weekends as needed to support operations.
- Electrical Journeyman license.
- Ability to read and understand single line ladder logic and Dowtran.
