About Us: Costello Sury & Rooney is a dynamic and growing law firm dedicated to fostering a team-oriented atmosphere. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support our expanding litigation department docket.
Position Overview: As a key member of our team, you will directly support three attorneys by managing various administrative and legal tasks. This is a full-time position in our new office location in Oakbrook Terrace. Your responsibilities will include:
- Electronically filing legal documents with multiple courts.
- Organizing and managing litigation files, including discovery.
- Calendaring and monitoring court dates and deadlines.
- Mailing, scanning, and copying legal documents.
- Drafting notices and basic pleadings (e.g., notices of motions, certificates of service).
- Preparing templates for responses to written discovery.
- Conducting electronic searches of court dockets and recorder of deeds documents in all Illinois counties and federal bankruptcy court.
Qualifications:
- High school or equivalent required
- College or paralegal certificate (Preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office: 1 year
- Experience in creating, editing, and formatting legal documents in Word and PDF
- Experience with legal billing and legal billing software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
