We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Precision Specialist/Agronomist to join our team. The Specialist will be responsible for providing expertise in precision agriculture, soil management, crop production and sustainable agriculture practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plant science, pest control, and farming techniques, ensuring the highest yield and quality of crops while maintaining environmental sustainability. Pay based on knowledge/experience.
This cooperative is the world’s first oil cooperative established in June of 1921. During those years, the cooperative has successfully evolved into a diverse business model that includes agronomy, bulk petroleum, bulk propane, convenience stores, HVAC/plumbing and a repair shop. Job Responsibilities:
1. Product Expertise & Innovation: Maintain in-depth knowledge of precision agriculture products and services, staying current with industry trends. Research and develop individualized farm plans, agricultural techniques and technologies to improve efficiency, and crop yields.
2. Customer Support & Collaboration: Provide ongoing support to our existing growers, ensuring satisfaction and resolving issues. Collaborate with internal teams and external businesses to deliver seamless service and optimal performance.
3. Training & Technical Support: Offer training to farmers and agricultural personnel on precision tools, sustainable practices, and innovative techniques, ensuring they are well-equipped to optimize their operations.
4. Grower Consultation & Development: Engage with established growers to assess their needs and offer tailored precision solutions while actively pursuing new opportunities to expand the cooperative, patron base and strengthen relationships.
5. Agronomy & Field Analysis: Conduct soil and plant analysis to recommend appropriate fertilization and treatment strategies. Advice on best practices for crop rotation, pest management, and monitor weather impacts on crop production.
Requirements:
Education- High school diploma or equivalent required; Post-Secondary Degree Agronomy or Agri Business preferred; Successful retail sales experience may be substituted for education. Fluent reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
License, Certificate or Registration - Class A CDL and a CCA preferred

Pay: $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
