What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Country Club of Troy?
The Country Club of Troy is hiring a Controller to manage its accounting, financial and human resource activities. As a Controller, you will be responsible for managing all accounting and human resource functions including maintaining general ledger; managing accounts payable and receivable; preparing monthly financial statements; preparing annual budgets; performing account analysis and reconciliations; implementing and monitoring internal controls; administering human resource and payroll activities; managing monthly member billings; monthly sales tax compliance; assisting outside accounting firm with annual tax filings; and fixed asset records management.
The successful candidate must have proven management and supervision skills, a strong work ethic and ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously; must be professional and courteous in dealing with members and staff; and must maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Knowledge of Golf Course, food & beverage, and restaurant operations is a plus. As is a high proficiency in Excel and experience with JONAS Club Software.
This is a full-time job position. Salary will be determined based on education, experience, and abilities. Other benefits include paid-time-off, health and dental insurance and limited golf privileges at a renowned, historic golf course. Bachelor's degree and 5 plus years relevant experience is required. Experience in financial accounting for non-profit in private clubs/hospitality industry, food/beverage/golf course operations is preferred.
