What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night Auditor/Front Desk Agent 11pm-7am position at Country Inn & Suites by Radisson?
NIGHT AUDITOR- Overnights! (Yes the middle of the night)
Job Summary:
Are you a night owl? (with a side of coffee, of course)? We’re looking for a Night Auditor who can clean and make coffee, all while making sure our guests feel right at home. Your shift? It's the magic time between when the world sleeps, and the hotel still needs someone to make sure it doesn’t fall apart.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Services (aka Midnight Hero):
- Check-in our late-night guests who have no idea what time it is, but still need a cozy bed.
- Check-out guests with a smile (or at least a polite wave) as they leave us at the crack of dawn.
- Answer questions like, “Do you have an ice machine?” and “Where's the best late night pizza delivery?” with grace and a sense of humor.
- Night Audit (aka Number Cruncher):
- Conduct the night audit, a.k.a. the sacred ritual where you ensure all the numbers add up like magic. You’ll be the hero who catches the tiny errors and saves the day!
- Post charges, reconcile transactions, and ensure no guests have mysteriously disappeared in the middle of the night (or at least, make sure their bills are paid).
- Prepare reports that will make management proud, all while keeping a secret stash of snacks handy. Because, well, it’s 2 AM.
- Security & Safety (aka Night Watchman):
- Make sure the hotel is secure, from the doors to the lobby to the mystery of the “missing” pillows.
- Perform regular security checks to ensure guests and their belongings are safe and sound. Bonus points if you can pretend you're in a spy movie.
- You’ll also get a chance to help us set up breakfast (yes, there are waffles), and make sure the laundry situation isn’t, well, a mess.
- Administrative Tasks (aka Desk Ninja):
- Update guest information in our super high-tech system while pretending you’re in a futuristic sci-fi movie.
- Make sure the lobby is ready for action when the first early bird (a.k.a. morning guest) starts showing up at 5 AM.
- Juggle paperwork, reports, and the occasional existential question like, "Why does the world need another coffee cup?"
- Help with late-night laundry tasks, ensuring fresh linens and towels are ready for the morning madness.
- Organize the laundry room and make sure it doesn’t turn into a laundry mountain (we're looking at you, rogue socks).
- If the laundry monster strikes, you're the one to tame it — fold towels, sheets, and stock storage areas.
- Start the morning shift off right by setting up the breakfast area with a spread that’s better than most dinner spreads.
- You’ll prepare coffee (lots of coffee), arrange pastries, and make sure the hot food station is stocked and ready to go.
- Make sure everything is perfect for the early birds who are already wide awake at 5 AM (How do they do that?).
Qualifications (Or, Why You’re Perfect for This Role):
- You have a high school diploma (and maybe a coffee-stained college degree).
- Experience? Maybe. A love for nights and random hotel guest questions? Definitely!
- Your communication skills are top-notch, especially when explaining things like why it's 3 AM and you’re still smiling.
- You thrive in the middle of the night and have a deep, deep love for caffeine.
- Bonus if you’re skilled at balancing paperwork, coffee, and late-night snacks.
Physical Requirements (aka Surviving the Graveyard Shift):
- You can stand, sit, or do a funky dance at the front desk for long stretches of time. Your ability to stay awake is key.
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs, because sometimes, hotel linen need a little extra love (or you need to carry a few extra bags of chips).
Why Join Us?
We offer a cozy spot where the coffee is always flowing, the guests are quirky (but in a good way), and the night is yours to own. Think of it as a behind-the-scenes role in the world's best-kept secret: a place where you make the hotel world go round... or at least, keep it from falling asleep at the wheel.
Apply now and be our Night Auditor. We promise the coffee will be waiting for you.
