JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee and coordinate shipping, receiving and delivery activities performed by warehouse personnel.

• Manage paper flow and safety programs.

• Complete customer orders by loading and unloading products as needed.

• Maintain product stock in the store and warehouse.

• Assemble products and displays.

• Deliver products to customer delivery points.

• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment (delivery truck, forklift, etc.).

• Dispense propane and/or kerosene.

• Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks.

• Maintain the overall general upkeep and housekeeping of warehouse and surrounding area.

• Serve as a safety liaison between personnel and management.

• Develop positive work relationships with other staff. Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information.

• Practice punctual and reliable attendance.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma (or equivalent).

• Three (3) years’ directly supervising personnel or equivalent internal retail experience.

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.

• Possess a valid driver license and maintain a safe driving record.

• Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities with an emphasis on correctly calculating figures and amounts.

• Commitment to excellence and high standards especially in terms of providing outstanding customer service.

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently.

• Lift, carry, push, pull and load up to 60 pounds.

• Professional appearance and demeanor.

• Proven track record of being dependable and reliable.

Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing in a manner with co-workers and customers for safety purposes.

• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working in a warehouse and/or retail setting.

• Product knowledge in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, hardware, fencing, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, lawn & garden or wild bird supplies.

• Experience safely dispensing propane cylinders, operating pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.

SCHEDULE

This is a full time, 40 hours per week position (schedule will vary). Sunday through Saturday. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
