The Executive Assistant provides support to the Public Defender and First Assistant by performing general clerical and project related tasks.Under the direction of the Public Defender, the Executive Assistant:
Residence Requirement: The County of Delaware has a residency requirement for employees. Anyone applying for this job must reside in Delaware County or be willing to move to the County within six months of starting employment.

- Assists the Public Defender and First Assistant in preparing, filing and managing legal documents
- Maintains calendars and schedules, coordinates meetings and appointments
- Composes and edits memoranda and correspondence from dictation
- Answers telephone calls and emails
- Assists with office administrative duties including office supply inventory, processing purchase requisitions, and check requests
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Prior office experience required
- Prior legal office experience preferred
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well with others and willingness to support co-workers
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Excellent customer service
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
