The person in this position possesses strong organization, time management and communication skills to complete the following essential duties:
- Manages some responsibilities related to eligibility determination & re-determination for benefits programs.
- Screens applicants for expedited services & explains how benefits are calculated.
- Conducts interviews for public assistance & helps determine eligibility by securing & verifying social, financial, and medical information.
- Assists with the completion of applications & submission of required forms.
- Works with clients and stakeholders to understand benefits programs and their requirements.
- Completes case opening, prepares case record and makes written recommendations on cases before assigning to eligibility.
- Works in multiple local and state databases to ensure client information is processed timely in their case record.
- Receives and resolves client inquiries and complaints related to situations such as benefits determination, policy interpretation, and self-sufficiency expectations.
- Communicates with clients in writing, in-person, and over the telephone.
- Performs other administrative support functions to support the work of the division and department.
- Responds to County-wide emergencies and participates in sheltering duties.
