A Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Courageous Community Services is a caregiver, a friend, and an advocate. You’ll help people with disabilities have the best life possible and stay safe doing it. Our DSPs assist with arts and crafts, play modified inclusive sports, lead volunteering activities and outings, explore the grounds at Courageous Acres, and form real bonds with the individuals we serve.
Courageous Connections is a non-traditional, person-focused adult day support program. We work in small groups of four to stay active, improve our skills, and make a difference every day. The program incorporates a variety of social, recreational, and volunteer opportunities while helping adults with intellectual disabilities gain skills with their employment and personal goals.
Job Specifics:
- Program runs from 9:00-2:00 Tuesdays through Thursdays
- 1:4 staff ratio
- Staff take turns providing transportation of individuals to Courageous Acres in an accessible van and back home at the end of day
- Occasional off-site work (outings, volunteering)
- This is an entry-level job. We’ll pay for your training
Requirements:
- Must pass a background check for employment as a caregiver for individuals with disabilities
- Must be 18 or older
- Must have a high school diploma, GED, or other certificate of completion
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
