Job Summary

Duties/Responsibilities
- Execute the mission and values of the hotel brand and company.
- Maintain a friendly and helpful demeanor at all times.
- Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments
- Possess a working knowledge of the reservations department
- Knows room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates
- Register arriving guests and assigns rooms
- Coordinate room status updates with the housekeeping department by notifying housekeeping of all check-outs, late check-outs, early check-ins, special requests, and part-day rooms
- Coordinate guest room maintenance work with the engineering and maintenance division
- Use persuasive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel
- Know daily activities and meetings taking place in the hotel
- Report any unusual occurrences or requests to the direct report, Front Office Manager
- Manage and resolve all guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner
- Processes guest check-outs and handles monetary transactions
- Maintains a high level of professional appearance and demeanor
- Report to work in uniform presented professionally, neat, and clean
- Greet all guests in a friendly and positive manner
- Anticipate and exceed the needs and expectations of guests
- Respond to guest complaints and issues in a timely manner
- Maintain open lines of communication between all departments in the hotel
- Exhibit regular and recurrent attendance records
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Specifications
- A high school diploma or general education certificate is required
- Skilled in use of front office equipment
- Previous hotel experience preferred
- Previous customer service experience required
- Ability to communicate with guests, hotel staff, and management in a professional manner
- Knowledge of surrounding areas and local events
- Ability to understand and adhere to proper credit, cash, and card handling policies and procedures
- Ability to properly secure guest information
- Ability to learn safety, emergency, and accident prevention policies and procedures
- Knowledge of proper phone etiquette
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Working Conditions
- Shift: Day shift, Night shift, Holidays
- Weekly day range: Rotating weekends
- Air-conditioned front desk area, chairs if needed.
- Standing for majority of the shift is required, as is lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Proper dress attire is required, and uniforms are provided
