Summary/Objective
- The House person will ensure the operational abilities of the Housekeeping Department by preparing for, maintaining, and recovering from various activities and functions throughout the hotel. Assists Housekeeping Room Attendants, dispose of trash, transport laundry, and clean the common areas of the hotel.
Essential Function:
- Resolves guest complaints to the satisfaction of the guest; responds promptly to any guest request for service
- Arrives at work in a timely fashion in accordance with the posted schedule.
- Abides by established uniform guidelines.
- Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture, values and philosophy of Meyer Jabara Hotels. Displays dignity and respect of others at all times.
- Maintains a “can do” and a “guest first” attitude at all times.
- Works as a member of the overall hotel team to ensure that each guest has an experience that exceeds their expectations.
- Attends scheduled training sessions within the hotel as dictated by The Center Hotel and Meyer Jabara Hotels.
- Assists with other departments within the hotel when necessary to ensure guest needs.
- Cleans hotel public spaces according to hotel standards.
- Keeps outside area free of debris
- Communicate with staff or guests. Close interaction with staff and guests is essential in this position to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Removes trash from all receptacles and takes it out to the dumpster
- Reading and writing abilities are used often in reviewing and comprehending written instructions from superiors regarding assignments

Work Environment
This job operates throughout the entire hotel where typically you are working independently, but will come in close proximity to your co-workers as well. The noise levels will be moderate. Hazards include, but are not limited to chemical reactions, slipping, tripping, and strains.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous cleaning experience preferred, not required
