JOB SUMMARY
The Nurse Unit Manager at St. Mary's d'Youville Pavilion is responsible for managing the administration and clinical operations of a patient/resident care unit. They will be responsible for the supervision of all unit staff, including: nurses, nursing assistants, support staff and unit secretaries. They will plan, organize, coordinate, evaluate and control all human and material resources of the unit. He/She will be required to be able to provide direct patient care.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Associate Degree in Nursing required, Bachelors preferred
- Valid State of Maine RN license required
- BLS certification required
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience required
- Previous management experience
- Acute, Long Term Care or Skilled care experience preferred
- MDS and Care Planning knowledge preferred
Other Skills Required
- Demonstrated leadership skills required
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills required
- Knowledge of special development and physical needs of adults and geriatric patients/residents
- The ability to promote teamwork throughout the unit.
- Organized and detail-oriented
