WHAT WE OFFER The purpose of the Logistics Coordinator position is to locate coverage effectively and efficiently for Covestro’s loads. The position will provide coverage for vacation and projects for the Surface and Other Modes and the Bulk Tendering Specialist roles. The Logistics Coordinator will also assist the transportation manager/supervisor as needed. Major Tasks and Responsibilities: Tendering freight to assigned carrier base based on material and plant, utilizing our third party’s transportation management system. Understanding of transportation operations specific to bulk truck chemical operations and applying it to effectively distribute loads to carriers. Functional knowledge of a transportation management system (Ryder TM, SAP, or other ERP system) that is used to manage the life cycle of a bulk transportation order from receipt of order to closing the load in all systems. Functional knowledge of supply chain processes, i.e. logistics, product planning, and manufacturing that can be applied to problem solving challenges in meeting our customers required delivery dates to support OTIF (On Time In Full). Develop relationships with multiple carriers and execute against a developed routing guide. Night and weekend coverage as necessary while being on call during all off hour's, nights and weekends to assist customers, carriers, and Covestro Order Management. In depth understanding of transportation operations specific to surface transportation (TL and LTL, air domestic, COFC, TOFC). WHAT YOU OFFER Basic Qualifications: High School diploma with 8 years’ relevant experience Prior experience with transportation modes, operations procedures, supplier base, and the overall bulk/package truck marketplace Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with 1 years’ relevant experience Cross-functional experience within Order Management, Supply Chain, or within different departments Working knowledge of Covestro production, inventory, and distribution policies, plans, and procedures Knowledge and Skills: A high level of interpersonal skills and ability to engage and communicate with stakeholders within the organization and with service providers Technical skills related to the deployment of transportation management systems and supported integration points Familiarity with strategic sourcing process related to defining scope of work and BU/customer requirements Experience/competency with SAP system or other ERP system #LI-Hybrid YOUR APPLICATION Are you as curious, courageous and colorful as we are?
