Job Summary:
A Referral Coordinator is someone who has excellent customer service and phone skills, is detail-oriented, self-directed, and who has excellent computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records. You'll work in a fast-paced environment and be a part of a team that provides health care and social services to a population of varying socioeconomic backgrounds. The Referral Coordinator is responsible for processing, scheduling, obtaining prior authorization and tracking of all medical referral requests and authorizations from primary care providers, specialists and vendors.

Requirements:- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of job experience and education.
- 1-5 years previous work experience performing general clerical, data entry and customer service duties, preferably in referrals within an outpatient primary care clinic.
- Experience using electronic health records systems.
- Ability to work with a low-income, multi-ethnic patient population and a demonstrated ability to relate respectfully and effectively to people of diverse racial, educational and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Must be a confident, self-directed, detail-oriented individual who can work within a team as well as independently.
- Strong communication, organization, documentation and record keeping skills necessary.
Desired Education Skills and Experience:
- ICD/CPT coding knowledge preferred.
- Proficient in medical, dental, nutrition, behavioral health or other terminology pertinent to position and to outpatient, social service office procedures.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
