The Golisano Autism Center (the “Center”) is a private nonprofit organization that works collaboratively with those who provide services (i) to individuals who are on the Autism Spectrum and (ii) to the families of those individuals. CP Rochester, one of the founders of the Center, employs the Director of the Center who then serves in that position pursuant to a service contract between the Center and CP Rochester. The Director of the Center reports directly to the Center’s board of directors.
CP Rochester and its affiliates, Happiness House and the Rochester Rehabilitation Center, are private nonprofit health, educational, residential and human service organizations that have been serving communities in the Finger Lakes region since 1969 and the greater Rochester area since 1946. Our agencies offer an array of educational, therapeutic, recreational, employment, residential and family support programs and services for children and adults with and without disabilities. On average, our agencies serve 3,650 families each year and employ approximately 600 people.
Our staff consists of dedicated and knowledgeable professionals and clinicians with expertise in the areas of: special education; early childhood education; physical, occupational, speech and music therapies; service coordination; psychology; nursing; dental services; employment and production training; and developmental disabilities.

Job Summary:
The Director of the Golisano Autism Center is responsible for providing effective leadership, oversight and collaboration with all Center providers to ensure the smooth flow of services for individuals on the Autism Spectrum and their families. The Director also initiates and oversees all Center fundraising events and appeals, as well as submitting applications for grants.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Manage, operate and maintain the Center to facilitate the flow of services within the scope of lease agreements, including:
a. overseeing the Center’s Operations/Admin Assistant, Receptionist and navigator;
b. providing training sessions regarding the health and safety of the occupants of the Center (emergency drills, security systems, reporting physical plant issues, etc.);
c. scheduling shared space times for all providers;
d. ensuring access to required systems (phones, internet, copies, etc.);
e. chairing Partner Provider and Safety Committee meetings;
f. working closely with the Center’s Board of Directors and the CFO; and
g. onboarding new tenant providers ensuring proper and timely communications among the Center and the providers;
2. Promote the Center’s vision and mission by working collaboratively with all Center providers, including their respective navigators, appropriate community organizations and families to provide a facility that meets the specific needs of individuals of all ages with an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis and their families;
3. Research, identify and contact prospective donors and initiate a minimum of two successful fundraising events per year for the Center (one of which is the annual appeal);
4. Maintain records of donor information and ensure that appropriate thank-yous are sent to all donors;
5. Pursue and implement grants that further the vision and mission of the Center and its providers;
6. Increase awareness and visibility of the Center and its providers by disseminating news items for print, radio, TV and social media;
7. Adhere to agency’s policies and procedures as well as department guidelines;
8. Promote identifying and providing access to specific services and supports that meet the specific needs of individuals of all ages with an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis and their families;
9. Maintain confidentiality of information relating to individuals and their families in accordance with agency policies and state and federal laws;
10. Share and promote research, resources and evidence-based practice details with Center providers and those they serve who have Autism Spectrum Disorders; and
11. Act as the spokesperson for the Center as determined by the Chairperson of the board of directors.
Supervisory Responsibility: Provides direct supervision of the operations manager, the family navigator and the ambassador.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
Employment: This is a full-time 35 hours per week position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday during business hours. Evening work and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Requirements:
- Professional education with 3 to 5 years of high-level experience in the field of fundraising and development.
- Demonstrated ability in program management and personnel supervision.
- Knowledge in the field of autism and the skill to share that knowledge with a diverse audience including individuals on the Autism Spectrum, their family members and advocates, educational, recreational, health care and support services providers, as well as the community at large.
- Experience and comfort with presenting to groups and the media.
