ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER I
The individual in this role supports team efforts by participating in long-term planning and design for architectural projects across our market sectors.
The Architectural Designer I is often a new graduate and performs analyses of design, planning and occupancy studies and limited design layouts for projects. Reporting to an Architect or Project Manager, you write and review plans/estimates and develop detailed models in AutoCAD and Revit, mindfully accounting for accurate field conditions. In this position, you work under close supervision on small, or segments of larger, moderately complex projects.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- An ability to comprehend and carry out complex instructions.
- Technical skills in programs such as Revit, Bluebeam, the Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and other 3D visualization tools
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team while juggling diverse projects.
- Developing interpersonal skills and ability to correspond with clients, consultants, and other project personnel.
- A foundational understanding of construction methods and materials, with a willingness to learn more.
- Basic familiarity with governing codes and standards as well as sustainable design strategies
- Professional degree in architecture from an accredited institution preferred.
CORE DUTIES
- Create, update and maintain AutoCAD and Revit architectural models.
- Participate in conceptual design activities under the supervision of a Project Manager
- Attend, participate in design team charrettes, preparing meeting minutes for distribution.
- Participate in product research, evaluation, and selection.
- Coordinate detailing across disciplinary teams to ensure compatibility between all building systems and material selections.
- Assist in the development of project specifications.
- Prepare architectural documents for agency approval throughout the bidding and construction administration process.
- Perform shop drawings and submittal reviews.
- Attending construction meetings, maintaining a photographic record of work progress, and preparing field reports for distribution.
- Assist the marketing department in obtaining professional, on-site project photos.
- Copy and print drawings as requested.

The rate for this position generally ranges between $64K - 97K annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employees already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee's pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
