Title: Business Operations Manager
Compensation: $60K - $100K (based on experience)
Employment type: 40 hours per week (5 days a week)
We own and manage a portfolio of apartment buildings in Washington, DC. We are seeking a Business Operations Manager, which is an in-person job at our corporate headquarters in Bethesda, MD. The Business Operations Manager works directly with our property management team, our maintenance staff, and our tenants. The job requires overseeing and coordinating multiple functions in our operations such as: Human Resources, Collections, and Operating Expense Management.
Here is a sample list of the Business Operations Manager responsibilities:
· Monitor the water and utility usage in our buildings – take action to reduce these expenses
· Oversee compliance with government licensing and filing requirements
· Managing Human Resources (HR) tasks: timesheets, payroll, employee handbook, health insurance, etc…
· Overseeing rent collections: contacting tenants, posting cash receipts, monitoring payment plans, coordinating related actions with our property management team
· Managing our property insurance policies
· Monitoring our security cameras and resolving issues identified
· Assisting our property management team in handling incoming phone calls and tenant requests and issues
· Researching and implementing new technologies to assist our operational performance
· Assisting with new business initiatives and property acquisitions
Key Skills
· Make decisions independently with minimal oversight
· Very detail oriented
· Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office is required: Excel, Outlook, Word, etc…
· Aggressively look for problems and then solve them
· Customer service oriented with a professional approach in dealing with tenants and coworkers
Experience – not required but helpful

Work Locations and Hours
· Work location is in our office at 6701 Democracy Blvd – hybrid/remote work is not available
· Standard Hours are 8:30A – 5P but extra hours during evenings and weekends are required as needed – flex schedule may be available
· Periodic visits to our buildings in Washington, DC is required to meet with our property management and maintenance staff
