Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and management, with proficiency in tools such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam. This role involves evaluating project costs, preparing estimates, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure projects are completed within budget. The Estimator will play a crucial role in the bidding process, helping to secure contracts while maintaining cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects using HeavyBid and other estimating software.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data for more precise estimations.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid documents and presenting estimates to clients.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating or management is required.
- Proficiency in HeavyBid and Bluebeam software is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost control measures.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in evaluating project specifications.
- Ability to effectively negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers for optimal pricing.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with team members and clients.
- Familiarity with construction site operations is advantageous.
- A degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
