GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Customs Classifier is esponsible for accurately classifying goods according to local required customs codes, determining the correct customs duties and taxes applicable to imported or exported merchandise, ensuring compliance with local customs regulations, and working closely with importers and exporters to facilitate smooth customs clearance processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Tariff classification:
Analyze product descriptions, specifications, and documentation to identify the correct codes for imported and exported goods.
Compliance verification:
Ensure all necessary documentation is accurate and compliant with assigned territory customs regulations.
Duty calculation:
Calculate the appropriate customs duties and taxes based on the assigned tariff codes.
Risk assessment:
Identify potential customs compliance issues and take necessary actions to mitigate risks.
Stakeholder communication:
Collaborate with importers, exporters, customs brokers, and logistics providers to address classification queries and facilitate smooth customs clearance.
Regulatory updates:
Stay informed about changes to Mexican customs laws and regulations and adapt classification practices accordingly.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1 - 3 years of experience in Customs Classification
- 1 - 3 years of experience in Freight Forwarding
