Basic Function:
The Recruiter/Human Resources Specialist is responsible for providing support and assistance in the completion of administrative tasks in all areas of the Human Resources/ Recruiting Department. Support employees in their administrative needs as they relate to human resources. Continually recruits utilizing a variety of sources (local contacts, identified training/educational institutions, social media, print ads, on-line job postings, job fairs, etc.). Develops/maintains a pool of highly qualified candidates possessing skills sets required for fulfillment of work/service delivery to Cranemasters customers.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Assist candidates through the entire application process ensuring that all pre-and post-hire documents are properly completed.
- Follows employment laws, Cranemasters policies/procedures/practices with direction provided by the Human Resources Director.
- Extends offers of employment to potential employees (verbally and in writing). Coordinates, follows-up and ensures that all required post-offer requirements are met: E-Rail Criminal History Background, Driving Records, Personal and Professional References, Physical Examination, and Drug Screen.
- Ensure that documentation is provided for compliance with Form I-9 as well as other forms/documents required for on-boarding/payroll, etc. Responsible for submission of documents to various departments. Sets-up personnel file, payroll file, medical file, benefit file and Driver Qualification File (as applicable).
- Coordinate the employment process by ensuring background, drug screening, and required DOT physicals have been completed and meet company standards, ensuring proper HR, payroll and benefits paperwork and electronic enrollments have been completed by new hires, entering new hires I-9 into the Everify system and creating and maintaining employee electronic files. Coordinating the new hire orientation process. Entering employee data into HR systems.

- Delivers new hire orientation to various division(s).
- Responsible for processing of a variety of forms and data submissions to comply with federal, state, location regulations. Includes, but is not limited to: various state’s New Hire Data Reports, E-Verify, and other reporting requirements as may be imposed by statute.
- Responsible for administration of E-Rail badge control (sends notices to managers/supervisors) prior to expiration to ensure that employees go on-line and update training and have new badges issues.
- Orders and issues Fuel System Credit Cards and Corporate Lodging Cards; obtains employee’s signed acknowledgement upon issuance of cards.
- Ensures that new hires are provided with information on benefits, policies, procedures, etc.
- Network with industry contacts, associations, trade groups, and employees.
- Actively recruit new hires through on-going contact, targeted head hunting, etc.
- Perform other duties as requested and/or assigned by management

- Aid with benefits enrollment process by reviewing new hire enrollments and ensuring proper online completion, helping with annual enrollment process and verifying accuracy of benefits bills.
- Coordinate exit interview process for departing employees.
- Develop communications for HR related programs.
- Assist with government compliance reporting (state new hire, EEO/VETS, Title VI).
Participate in select compensation surveys.
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and four-years human resources experience; equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
- Proficient with MS Office software; additional basic computer skills are required
- 2 years of staffing experience required; 1 years of experience in construction of trucking industry recruiting
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to read, write and speak English
- Drive for achieving results and ability to convey a sense of urgency when appropriate.
- Strong leadership skills; ability to foster team orientated environment; able to lead by example
- Ability to multi-task, stay organized, prioritize, meet time sensitive deadlines, and pay close attention to detail

Required Travel: Up to 20% for work related travel to/from other Cranemasters locations, training, seminars, and meetings

Immediate Supervisor’s Title: Human Resources Director.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma and minimum of 3 years’ experience in an administrative/clerical role and at least 1 year of work experience in human resources. Education and experience would be typically equivalent to an Associate’s Degree.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Drive for achieving results and ability to convey a sense of urgency when appropriate.
- Strong organization and administration skills with detail orientation to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and maintain detailed, accurate records.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Able to read, write and speak English
Physical Demands:
- This position requires significant work at a desk, but also requires walking, talking, standing as needed to meet with employees, travel to various work sites, conduct meetings, etc.
- Requires lifting up to 20 pounds (files/uniforms/etc.) and bending (most frequently related to filing).
- Works extended hours as work load dictates.
- Ability to work well while under considerable stress/pressure.
Required Certifications and Licenses:
- Valid Driver’s License with good driving record
- Other certifications as may be necessary for accomplishment of assigned responsibilities.
