We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Recruiter to join our Human Resources team and play a crucial role in hiring top talent for our manufacturing and production operations.
Position Summary:
The Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, screening, and hiring qualified candidates for production and manufacturing roles. The Recruiter will partner with the Human Resources and hiring managers to understand staffing needs. Provide recommendations for recruitment strategies and ensure a seamless hiring process while maintaining compliance labor laws. Help to develop recruitment strategies and partner with Staffing Specialist to determine current and future hiring needs. Attend Career Fairs, Trade Schools, and Local High Schools to build the Ukrop’s Homestyle Food (UHF) Brand in the community.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Proactively fill manufacturing positions using a variety of recruiting methods (job boards, social media, VEC, temporary services and career fairs) to attract top talent and establish pipelines for future openings.
• Collaborate with HR Specialist and department heads/managers to address and forecast workforce needs.
• Manage job postings, applications, and applicant tracking systems (ATS) for assigned business unit.
• Conduct initial screenings, coordinate interviews, and assist hiring managers in candidate selection.
• Manage post-offers, pre-employment background checks and monitor the drug screen process.
• Maintain records on recruitment activities, applicant flow, interviews, and hires through the ATS or other systems.
• Work collaboratively with Payroll, Benefits and the HR Coordinator to ensure new hire paperwork is submitted correctly and in a timely fashion.
• Assist HR staff with group on-boarding activities for new hires and temporary employees, to include, facilitating all new hire trainings.
• Offer suggestions for creative recruiting strategies to attract qualified candidates and help to implement.
• Maintain relationships with local workforce organizations, trade schools, and community partners.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, employment laws, and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations.
• Keep up to date with talent acquisition and local labor wage trends and provide ideas and options on strategies to recruit and acquire top talent.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Travel within Richmond and outlying areas to all facilities and for job fairs and other recruiting events.
Education and Experience:
• Associate or bachelor’s Degree or related field preferred.
• 2 years of recruiting experience, preferably in manufacturing or high-volume hiring environment.
• Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM_CP) is a plus.
• Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
• Experienced with multiple social media platforms, to include Facebook, Instagram, indeed, etc.
• Ability to uphold strict confidentiality standards.
• Team mentality, flexibility, and willingness to learn.
• Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
• Ability to manage multiple open positions in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision; self-motivated.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
Minimum Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer in an office environment.
• Must be able to lift 15 to 20 pounds at a time.
• Minimum bending, twisting, pushing and pulling.
• Ability to travel to multiple locations within a 12-mile radius and attend recruiting events as required.
